Welcome to the Health Visiting and School Nursing services for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

Our Health Visitors and School Nurses are qualified nurses or midwives who have completed extra training, including child development and health improvement, to become Specialist Community Public Health Nurses.

Our Health Visiting and School Nursing teams are here to support parents, carers and young people to be healthy. We provide advice and support right through from pregnancy up until a child is 19. All families will be offered a number of routine contacts, plus extra visits where needed.

We know that this is a worrying time and it will definitely not be how you had planned your parenting journey. You may have concerns in relation to your pregnancy or your children. Our teams are still here and able to support you and your family.  How we provide care has changed in 2021.  In this animation, which our colleagues at Leeds Community Healthcare have developed, we will share with you what you can expect during a home visit.

In addition, we have harnessed technology and can now offer some virtual consultations as well as telephone support.  Contact your local hub for support and advice or take a look through our website for answers to some common parenting issues.
