To support the preparations for Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made changes to the services we provide
IAPT stands for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies and is designed to make sure everyone can access therapy for low mood and a range of anxiety problems.
These services provide a range of recommended, evidence-based talking therapies for people who would like support for their mental health.
They offer information, guidance and talking therapies in a variety of different formats including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for anxiety
- EMDR for trauma
- Interpersonal therapy
- Couples therapy
- Counselling for depression
These services can also help people with a range of persistent physical symptoms and long-term physical conditions.
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Wellbeing Service (from 1 April)
From 1 April, the new Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Wellbeing Service brings together existing IAPT teams in Staffordshire into one, fully integrated service with a single point of access.
It sees Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust working together to deliver an enhanced IAPT service to the communities they presently serve.
They will also continue to work alongside Mental Health Matters, the Dove Service, North Staffs Mind, Burton and District Mind and Changes Health & Wellbeing to build on the high quality care and support provided across the county.
