Dr Marie Wardle - Programme Director - (MBACP, IPT UK) PhD, MA, PG Dip and PGCE

Marie Wardle.jpgMarie has worked for Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) for over 20 years in various clinical settings, including secondary care services, community mental health teams, primary care services and IAPT. She is the founder of IPT West Midlands and an IPT-UK approved trainer. Originally trained as an integrative psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, studying at the University of Manchester (School of Education), Liverpool and Chester. She has undertaken a 3-year curriculum course in Psychiatry (MRCpsych) at the Teaching Hospital in North Staffs. and has led on various programmes in mental health, lecturing and supervising on MRCpsych programmes, and other organizations. Her recent research interests are in lifestyle medicine and developing courses in this growing field.


Heather Morgan - IPT UK Trainer and  Supervisor - BSc, MA., PG. Dip, PGC, IPT UK, MBACP

Heather is an accredited IPT UK Practitioner and Supervisor and is employed with MPFT.  She has worked with the Trust for 16 years as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. She has many years’ experience working in different mental health sectors with previous roles in independent organisations including Alcohol Services and Employee Assistance Programmes. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Podiatric Medicine (University of Westminster), a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision and MA in Counselling Studies (University of Chester).


Lorraine Manley - Accredited Trainer, Supervisor & Practitioner - MA, Adv PG Dip, PGC, PGC CBT, MBACP, IPT UK

Lorraine Manley- edited.jpgLorraine is an accredited IPT UK Trainer, Supervisor and Practitioner. She qualified with a degree in Person-Centred Therapy and a Masters in Counselling Studies from the University of Liverpool. Lorraine has worked for MPFT for nearly 20 years in various clinical settings across the Trust as a Supervisor, IPT therapist and Counsellor. Her previous working experience has included; working for Shropshire Council Youth Services offering counselling to children and young people, for the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS FT providing counselling and CBT for adult services and Consultant Psychotherapist for Cheshire East CMHT Psychology Department, offering High-Intensity step 4 CBT and Psychotherapy. She has also spent 16 years volunteering and offering her services as a Supervisor for Shropshire Cruse Bereavement Services.


Rachel Lloyd -  Accredited IPT UK Practitioner, Supervisor and Assistant Trainer

Rachel Lloyd.jpgRachel is an accredited IPT UK Practitioner and Supervisor. More recently joining the IPT West Midlands team at the beginning of 2022, prior to this she has worked within the NHS since 2005 in a number of various hospital settings including adult inpatient and outpatient departments before completing a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2013. In 2014 she joined a Primary Care Mental Health Team which later developed into an IAPT Service working as a Counsellor before completing training in IPT in 2017, going on to advanced practitioner training in 2019 and further training to qualify as a supervisor in 2020. She currently works a split week with 2 days in an NHS IAPT High Intensity team delivering IPT and the other 3 days within MPFT with IPT West Midlands.


Sharon Willis - IPT UK Accredited IPT Practitioner and Supervisor

Sharon Willis - edited.jpgSharon is an accredited IPT UK Practitioner and Supervisor who has worked in various settings throughout her career. She previously worked within Further Education teaching students including those with behavioural, physical and learning needs. In addition, Sharon was a course leader and taught level-one counselling skills to adult learners. Sharon worked closely with the student advice and guidance team providing counselling to students, staff and young people in education. Sharon has also worked for a charity-based organization focusing on substance misuse, working alongside Probation, MARAC, Social Services and other universal agencies. During this time Sharon delivered groups, facilitated events and worked with families; she also partnered with Bernardo’s on a project supporting families affected by substance misuse. For the last seven and a half years Sharon has been working within the NHS trust as a counsellor and IPT therapist in Mental Health.  Sharon is currently part of the IAPT High-Intensity team working up to step 4 and alongside her colleague introduced and developed IPT into the service.


Hayley Ircha – IPT UK Supervisor and Assistant Trainer - PG Dip, PGC, MBACP, IPT UK

Hayley Ircher.jpgHayley is an accredited IPT UK Practitioner and Supervisor and is employed with MPFT. Hayley has worked within an NHS IAPT service for over 10 years as a Counsellor and IPT therapist and more recently as a supervisor. Hayley has a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Postgraduate Certificate in Couples Counselling. She has a background of working in a health environment, the private and voluntary sectors and has 15 years’ experience as a trainer, both in the private sector delivering training to a wide range of audiences across the UK including the Blue Light Services. She also has a Level 3 Award in Education and Training.

Joanne Hooson – Business Support Officer - BSc (Hons) Sociology

Ranging from Health Authorities, community hospitals, public health, prison healthcare and most recently children's mental health. Joanne joined the IPT Team in June 2021 and supports the Management, Supervisors and Administration Team.


Sarah Power - Lead Digital and Course Administrator

Sarah Power 3.jpgSarah is an experienced administrator with over 25 years of experience in a pharmaceutical healthcare setting. Her last position was held with EMIS Community Pharmacy as an Advisor, responsible for managing the installation and training of patient medication record systems for pharmacy at both a group and independent level, ensuring connectivity for pharmacists to deliver patient healthcare. Having been in this industry for over 20 years she has decided that the time was right to change her career path and joined the NHS in 2019 as a Course Administrator in IPT and is currently in Year 3 of her Psychology and Counselling degree.


Sara Healey - Assistant Course Administrator

Sara Healey edited.jpgSara has 20-plus years experience of working in the community. She assisted different teams during this time which include learning disabilities, looking after senior clients and also for those suffering from mental health.  Most recently Sara Joined the NHS as part of the Access to mental health team, where she developed her administrative skill, as well as updating her knowledge of primary and secondary care. Sara joined IPT in September 2020 after returning from maternity leave and wanting a change of direction within the trust.


IPT External Supervisors

Matt Hewitt – Accredited BACP, CFD and IPT UK Practitioner, qualified CFD/IPT/Generic Supervisor level 7

Matt Hewitt edited.jpgMatt is an accredited IPTUK/ BACP Practitioner, CFD/IPT/Generic Supervisor, Integrative Psychotherapist/ Senior Manager. He is employed as a CFD/ IPT and Clinical Supervisor/ Senior Manager/CBT/PWP Team leader and as a Counsellor and IPT practitioner working in GP surgeries and privately throughout Derbyshire. He has many years of experience working in different mental health sectors with previous roles in the voluntary sector and several years’ experience working in IAPT Primary Care for the NHS. Matt was trained as an IPT Practitioner and Supervisor by Dr. Roslyn Law, Dr. Helen Burchill and Dr. Ronnie Browne who are based at the Anna Freud Centre in London and at Lincoln Hospital.  Andy Hill also trained Matt, head of research BACP on the very first CFD practitioner training at Warwick University. Matt was trained as a CFD supervisor by Assistant Professor at Nottingham University, Catherine Hayes.   He has a Diploma in Person-Centred Therapy (University of Derby) level 4 qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Qualified in Counselling for Depression, qualified to provide therapy for children using a Solution Focussed Model and holds a level 7 Master’s Degree level Generic supervision qualification awarded by the Sherwood Institute in Nottingham. CFD supervision qualification the University of Nottingham. He possesses knowledge of many different models including Mindfulness.  He is also a published author in his spare time. Matt is a member of IPTUK and a BACP member.


Jane Taylor -  IPT UK Practitioner & Supervisor

Jane Taylor - edited.jpgJane is an accredited IPT Practitioner & Supervisor. Her core profession is Occupational Therapy and previously worked with those with severe and enduring mental health problems. In 2007 she obtained her second BSc (Hons) Degree in Therapeutic Interventions. In 2008 she moved into the specialist field of Eating Disorders and worked across two community Eating Disorder Services for Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundational Trust. In 2015 she obtained her current position of Team Manager for the Bolton Eating Disorder Service where her role is split equally between management and clinical input. She is a member of IPT UK and registered on the HCPC register.


Nick Riches – IPT UK Therapist and Supervisor

Nick Riches - edited.jpgNick is an IPT therapist and Supervisor (IPT UK Accredited) and CBT therapist and supervisor (BABCP Accredited). 2001 employed as a counsellor in Worcestershire NHS Drug and Alcohol Services whilst training with the Psychology Dept and the University of Worcester. 2008 employed Cambridgeshire Psychological Wellbeing services (CPFT), whilst studying Postgraduate Diploma in CBT. 2014, attended the IPT level A+B training through the University of Surrey. 2019, IPT level C+D training with The West Midlands IPT training Centre.

Karen Jervis - edited.jpgI was initially a banker for 26 years and then changed profession and have been a therapist for nearly 20 years.  Looking at my picture I know you are now saying ‘she doesn’t look old enough to have achieved all that and thank you if you did.  I work part-time for the NHS and the rest of my time is in private practice as a therapist and supervisor. My NHS work is in IAPT in the Coventry and Warwickshire team as a CfD Counsellor, IPT Therapist and supervisor, Psychosexual Therapist and Counselling supervisor.  In my private practice, I am an EAP for local government as well as working for other nationwide EAP’s and my own client list from referrals from my awarding body sites as well as other word of mouth referrals.  I have also taught at varying levels from the Advanced Diploma (L4) in Therapeutic Counselling to the Combined Certificates in Counselling Skills & Studies (Theory) and Introduction to Counselling.


Zee Cassam - IPT UK accredited Practitioner and Supervisor

I have recently joined MPFT as an external supervisor.  I have worked for 25 years in various clinical settings across the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. My previous working experience have included; working in Adult ward setting, Community Mental Health Team, Common Mental Health Problem Service in Primary Care and Leicester City IAPT Service. I am currently employed as High Intensity Therapist providing Step 3 treatments as per NICE guidelines within the Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland IAPT Service.


Catherine Crossley -  IPT UK accredited Practitioner and Supervisor

Catherine Crossley - edited.jpgHello, my name is Catherine Crossley. I trained as a counsellor back in 1998 and initially started working as a Drug Worker in Leeds Prison. When I left the Prison, I began working as an NHS Primary Care Counsellor in Halifax in November 2003. This service was privatised in 2008 and I had a short while working for the new provider before returning to an NHS service in Pontefract, again as a Primary Care Counsellor, in 2009. With this service, I trained in IPT in 2010 and then became an IPT supervisor in 2012/13. Since then I have also trained in Couples Therapy for Depression. I was Tupe’d to Turning Point in 2016 with the rest of my IPT colleagues and have been very happy to work in larger service with many different therapists from all disciplines. In my free time, you will find me in wellies at the farm where I keep my horse. I ride regularly throughout the week and this is definitely the best thing for my mental health, fresh air, exercise and being in the moment with Meg.


Debbie Kirton - IPT UK accredited Practitioner and Supervisor

I am an accredited IPT UK Practitioner and Supervisor and have worked as an external supervisor with MPFT since 2019. I have been employed by the NHS since 2008, initially as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. I then completed my Postgraduate Diploma in CBT in 2010 with Derby University, whilst working for Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT) and then moved to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust (CPFT) in 2021. I am currently a High-Intensity Therapist providing Step 3 treatments within CPFT.
