The popular and well attended Songs for You programme for people living with dementia takes place at the Trinity Centre, Meole Brace Church, Church Road, Shrewsbury SY3 9HF.

The next session will be on Thursday 18 October 2018 from 2.30 to 3.30pm and all are welcome.

Songs for You is run by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s Arts for Health department. The sessions provide an opportunity for those living with dementia and their carers to come together for song, chat and a cup of tea. Any older adult experiencing isolation is also welcome to join in.

Arts for Health lead Jessica Kent says: “These are fun sessions, funded by the People’s Postcode Lottery which are great for anyone who loves to sing, has an interest in music, or just wants to be somewhere joyous, safe and friendly. Everyone benefits from sharing in a common enjoyment of well-loved remembered songs.

One of our participants commented: “These singing sessions have been one of the best things my mum is able to do. The sessions are invaluable – not only for those with dementia but the carers too!”

Future sessions will be held on 1,15,29 November and 6, 20 December 2018. For more information please contact Jessica Kent on 01743 210048 or email jessica.kent@mpft.nhs.uk
