New exhibition space at Redwoods page thumbnail

Working with one of our partner artist groups the Arts for Health team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has created a new exhibition space at The Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury.

The aim is to have a new place to display work created by service users at our wellbeing art groups; entries into our annual Trust art competition; and contributions by local artists. Using the specially made frames will mean we can easily change what’s on display and offer new and different exhibitions regularly.

To launch the space and the facility, we are showing an exhibition of work by local artist Annabelle Kerswell. The work represented spans a number of years and a number of styles. Her work is very spontaneous and definitely comes from within, Annabelle works in a very inspirational way and ideas just flow out at a great pace!  Her work is figurative and connected to place, landscapes and people in her life; she has a great eye for composition and colour and enjoys exploring both in an imaginative and experimental way.

The exhibition space will host a special event on 23 May 2019 at 11am to celebrate Annabelle’s work and this lovely exhibition will be open to anyone to view until the end of June.

Jessica Kent, Arts for Health lead said “We are very excited to have this new exhibition space and pleased to have Annabelle’s work for our first display.  We are keen to feature the work of other local artists who might like to exhibit their work in our centre, please contact me for further details on Jessica.kent@mpft.nhs.uk or call 07814 752783.
