Professor Carolyn Chew-GrahamA researcher from Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and Keele University is among the new cohort of academics granted Senior Investigator status by a prominent research body.  

Professor Carolyn Chew-Graham OBE, Honorary Professor of Primary Care Mental Health at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and General Practitioner and Professor of General Practice Research at Keele University, has been named among the National Institute for Health and Care Research’s (NIHR) 18th cohort of Senior Investigators, which catalogues a list of outstanding leaders from across social care, public health, methodology, pharmacy, dentistry, and clinical research in the UK. 

Senior Investigators are leading experts in their fields, recognised for their exceptional contributions to research and their influence in shaping the future of health and care. They receive funding to support their research activities while undertaking a senior leadership role for the NIHR. 

Professor Chew-Graham will hold the title of Senior Investigator for a period of four years. Reflecting on the role, she said: 

"I am very honoured to be named as an NIHR Senior Investigator – the funding will help support members of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Research team attend conferences and support their CV development."
