MPFT’s Research & Innovation Delivery Team has been accepted into the European Alliance for Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) Network of Trial Centres (ENTRI).
ENTRI is a collaborative network of experienced trial centres across Europe which focus on rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs). It aims to improve research access, support training and development, and share best practice across the field.
MPFT’s entry into ENTRI follows a period of rapid growth in rheumatology and musculoskeletal (MSK) research at the Trust, with patient recruitment more than doubling since 2022/23.
Membership offers several key benefits, including:
- Participation in high-quality international research and industry-sponsored studies
 - Opportunities to collaborate with other ENTRI member organisations
 - Access to EULAR-developed toolkits tailored to RMD clinical trials
 - Training and development pathways for clinical researchers
 - Contribution to the development of standardised trial methodologies and resources

Liz Glaves, Head of Research Delivery at MPFT, said:
“Joining ENTRI marks an important step in enhancing our clinical trials capability in rheumatology. It will help connect our teams with European partners and support opportunities for innovation, collaboration and learning – all with the ultimate aim of improving patient care.”
Sam Hider, Professor of Rheumatology at MPFT said:
“Collaborating with the ENTRI network will help support access to the latest research and clinical trials being conducted across Europe, meaning that we can continue to deliver high quality innovative care to our patients with rheumatology and musculoskeletal diseases and support training for the next generation of clinical researchers.”
MPFT’s involvement in ENTRI reflects the Trust’s strength in research delivery and its ongoing commitment to advancing patient care through innovation and research. It also supports wider efforts to expand clinical research opportunities across the NHS and ensure patients have access to the latest developments in treatment and care.
