A Recovery Worker working with the Hampshire Inclusion team, a service providing support and treatment to individuals affected by alcohol or drug issues, has been named ILLY Practitioner of the Year 2019, an award which acknowledges and celebrates the outstanding and inspiring contribution practitioners make to changing the lives of individuals and families affected by substance misuse.

During a routine visit of the Care Quality Commission carers expressed confidence in the ward, they had free access to the ward, and nurses were helpful and open. Both carers said they felt included in the decisions on the treatment of their family member.

Earlier this year, one of two wings of the George Bryan Centre was destroyed by fire. The second wing was later temporarily closed, on the grounds of safety. Temporary arrangements were put in place by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, who provide the services and they now want to design the permanent solutions.
