MPFT achieves White Ribbon accreditation page thumbnail

Through working with White Ribbon UK, the leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women and girls, MPFT has achieved the White Ribbon accreditation.

White Ribbon accreditation is an opportunity to make workplaces safe for women, and to upskill staff to become change makers. As an accredited organisation, MPFT is committed to delivering a comprehensive multi-year plan to transform staff culture, systems, and the wider community.

MPFT colleagues are invited to become Ambassadors (male volunteers that engage with other men and boys to inform about and call out abusive and sexist behaviour) or Champions (female volunteers that ensure that the voices of women, especially survivors of violence and abuse, are heard).

Sharon Conlon, Head of Strategic Safeguarding at MPFT said: “I’m really pleased that we have achieved the White Ribbon accreditation as it recognises the work we do in our safeguarding services and shows our commitment to making sure all of our colleagues are educated about violence towards women and girls. We are very proud to already have a culture of respect and speaking-up but allowing colleagues to become involved through the White Ribbon work will only strengthen this.”

Anthea Sully, Chief Executive of White Ribbon UK said, “White Ribbon accredited organisations can make a real difference towards ending violence against women by promoting a culture of respect and equality among their staff and wider communities. By raising awareness among employees, people can learn how to become allies and call out violent and abusive behaviour when they see it. We are delighted to welcome MPFT as one of our White Ribbon accredited organisations and are looking forward to working with them towards ending violence against women once and for all”.
