What is Kraydel Konnect?

Konnect is the name of a small camera unit made by the Kraydel company, which fits on top of a television screen and allows users to make and receive video calls. It connects to the user's home WiFi, and has a very simple remote control with large buttons. There is a user-friendly menu which can be easily navigated to make and receive calls, and view photos or videos. Our staff at MPFT will deliver the unit, and help to get the camera connected to the television and internet, so that it's ready to use.

Friends and family can download an app which allows them to upload photos to the Konnect system for their loved one to see, and they can also use the app to make and receive video calls.

Our clinicians at MPFT may also use this system to conduct video consultations or wellbeing checks, set reminders, or upload healthcare guidance videos.

The Benefits for Service Users include:

  • Simple to use - big button remote and limited menu.
  • Friends and family can stay connected from their own devices.
  • Up to five people can dial into a call.
  • Flexibility of care/increased options to access care via online consultations
  • No need to travel to appointments
  • Continuity of Clinical Service Provisions through illness and isolation (currently COVID)
  • Safe and secure
