New clinic providing specialist children and families services open in Cannock page thumbnail

A new clinic providing specialist children and families health services has been opened in Cannock by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT).

The Trust has relocated its Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Community Paediatrics and Paediatric Occupational Therapy teams from their current base at Cannock Chase Hospital to a new and improved location at West Chadsmoor clinic. The move to West Chadsmoor, in Clarion Way will be carried out in a phased approach.

CAMHS, Community Paediatrics and Paediatric Occupational Therapy services provide specialist assessment and intervention for children, young people and their families through clinic and community based appointments.

The clinic has been redesigned to meet the specific needs of children, young people and families, including child friendly waiting areas and facilities and a range of clinical rooms designed to meet the needs of the different services delivered from the clinic.

Claire Bailey, Managing Director of MPFT’s Children and Families services said: “A lot of work has gone in to redeveloping West Chadsmoor to ensure the clinic meets the needs of young service users and their families and I’m delighted that it is now open and providing valuable mental and physical health services in Cannock.

“Work on redesigning West Chadsmoor was unfortunately delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so I’m really pleased we’re open for business and I thank all the staff and teams for their hard work.”
