We are delighted to announce that two MPFT teams have been shortlisted in this year’s HSJ awards! The HSJ awards are one of the most esteemed accolades of healthcare service excellence in the UK. There are hundreds of entries each year so to be shortlisted is a huge achievement.

The CAMHS team have been shortlisted for the Digitising Patient Care Award for the launch of ‘Sandbox’.

The COVID-19 pandemic increased the demand for mental health services for Children and Young People and also changed how they engage with digital healthcare. The team utilised this opportunity to expand the support available online and launched Sandbox. Sandbox provides online mental health support for Children and Young People, including mental health assessment, internet-delivered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and one-to-one therapy.

The Staffordshire Community Dental, Paediatric General Anaesthetic service, are shortlisted for the Performance Recovery Award for reducing the waiting time for patients to 2-4 weeks (superseding pre-pandemic levels of 4-6).

The COVID-19 pandemic introduced new challenges and forced changes to processes. The team work exceptionally hard to introduce new initiatives, including redesigning the delivery of the service, to make sure that despite challenges, patient need was not only still being met but exceeded.
