Invitation to share views about community mental health transformation in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin page thumbnail

Community Mental Health Transformation will make services easier to access and use.  By everyone working together the aim is to make a real difference to people’s overall wellbeing.

People will be able to access mental health care where and when they need it, and be able to move through the system easily.

Health, social care, the voluntary sector and local people, including those with experience of mental health services and their carers, are working together.

Care will go beyond symptoms and illness, offering hope and the opportunity to live as healthy and fulfilling a life as possible.

The plans are part of a national initiative to provide more effective and responsive services and in order to implement this national vision, local health services are working with partners from local authorities and the voluntary and community sector.  Colleagues are also keen to involve people who have personal experience of mental health services, and their families and carers.

Anyone interested in how community mental health services are provided in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin is invited to join our second engagement event to share their views about how we make the transformation work.

The online event, on Thursday 18 November 2021, 13.00-14.30, is open to people who have used mental health services, their carers and family members, partners from local organisations, the voluntary and community sector, and interested members of the general public.

Please contact lucy.wilkinson@mpft.nhs.uk to register an interest and/or nominate colleagues to attend.  Further details and a link will then be shared nearer the date.

Anyone who is unable to attend the meeting but would like to receive further information about the plans can also contact lucy.wilkinson@mpft.nhs.uk
