Arts for Health at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are delighted to have been awarded a £1000 arts grant by Stafford District Arts Council (SDAC) to support live music for inpatients at St George’s Hospital, Stafford.

As part of their commitment to supporting health and wellbeing through engagement with the arts, Arts for Health engages professional singers and musicians to play live music to entertain service users on the wards. During the Coronavirus pandemic the team have been working with ward staff to ensure the programme is continued with performances provided via virtual platforms.

Arts for Health Project Worker Helen Wilson said “We are grateful to members of SDAC for considering us for funding. The grant of £1000 will help support our music programme, particularly during Covid-19, and make a real difference to both the people using our services and to staff.  At this difficult time it is even more important that we have the opportunity to enjoy music together and our programme brings much comfort and focus to listeners.  We are also pleased to be able to continue to support the professional musicians who work with us on a regular basis.”
