MPFT’s Chief Nurse Alison Bussey will be leaving the Trust to become Chief Nursing Officer in the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Integrated Care Board (ICB), starting on 13 June.

The ICB will become a statutory NHS body from 1 July this year and will take on the NHS planning functions previously held by the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). Alison, as Chief Nursing Officer, will have a pivotal role on the Board.

Chief Executive Neil Carr said: “I am sure that you will all join with me in congratulating Alison on her appointment to this role, whilst at the same time agreeing with me what a loss Alison will be to our MPFT family. Alison has been with our Trust since 2012 and we will be sad to see her go.

“A paragraph like this will not be able to articulate how much we will miss Alison and her contribution to not only our Trust but the populations we serve. There will be many opportunities for us to say “goodbye”, however I am pleased that Alison will remain in “our system” and we will still be able to work together in partnership for the benefit of our patients, service users and staff.”
